CALL XVII WORKSHOP OF THESES AND SOFTWARE QUALITY DISSERTATIONS (WTDQS)

SBQS 2018: XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality

October 17 - 19, 2018, Curitiba, Paraná, Brasil

 

The XVII Workshop on Software Quality Theses and Dissertations (WTDQS), inserted in the XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality (SBQS 2018), is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of master's and doctoral works in Software Quality in Development in Brazil.

The objective of this event is to provide a constructive environment for discussions, giving students the opportunity to obtain feedback on their work and a positioning in relation to the research on Software Quality. In addition, it aims to stimulate the integration and cooperation of researchers in the field and provide greater visibility to ongoing research for the academic and industrial community.

All submitted papers will be evaluated by three members of the Program Committee. The selected papers will be presented by the student during the WTDQS, where he will receive constructive opinions and criticisms from the Guest Panel of Debaters, composed of researchers in the area of ​​Software Quality, as well as the present community. The presence of the advisor during the presentation, although not mandatory, is recommended.

SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES

Submission to the XVII WTDQS should be done by means of an article and a research card characterizing the master's or doctoral work. Priority will be given in the following cases:

  • PhD works that are in the second or third year, that have defended or that are close to the defense of their thesis proposal (qualification);
  • Masters works that have approved proposal and that have a predicted deadline for the next 12 months.

Masters or doctoral studies must not be submitted, either concluded or in the process of being completed, that is, the defense of which is expected to occur next (before or after) to the date of the WTDQS, since at this stage little can contribute to the work.

Papers can be submitted in Portuguese or English. All papers must be submitted in 2 files in PDF format (exclusively):

  1. Search form containing a brief description of the main aspects of the work. The template of the WTDQS Research Sheet, available at this link, should be used.
  2. Article presenting clearly and objectively the following topics: characterization of the problem, theoretical basis, research method, current state of work, related works and expected results. The format of SBC articles available at http://www.sbc.org.br/documentos-da-sbc/category/169-templates-for-artigos-e-capitulos-de-livros should be used.

The topics listed in ii) are essential in the article, but they do not need to be in isolated sections, nor should they be presented in the order they were cited above. In addition, the article must contain title, author identification, affiliation, abstract in English and abstract in Portuguese.

The article should respect the format of SBC (SBC template) articles and the limit of 6 pages for master's and 8 pages for doctoral work.

Work in a format other than PDF that exceeds the number of pages or violates formatting instructions will not be considered. The article must be submitted by the graduate student and will be published if the graduate student is enrolled in the event.

The articles must be submitted electronically, by the JEMS system, at the following address: https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/sbqs2018, item SBQS 2018 - WTDQS.

For accepted jobs, the .doc or .docx file of the final version of the article may be requested.
