CALL FOR PAPERS – XIX WORKSHOP ON THESES AND DISSERTATIONS IN SOFTWARE QUALITY (WTDQS)

SBQS 2021: The 20th Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality

November 8th to 11th, 2021, Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil (online)

WTDQS

The XIX Workshop on Theses and Dissertations in Software Quality (WTDQS), inserted in the XIX Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality (SBQS 2021), is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of master and doctoral studies on Software Quality under development in Brazil.

The objective of WTDQS is to provide a constructive environment for discussions, giving students the opportunity to obtain feedback on their work and a position in relation to the research on Software Quality. In addition, it aims to stimulate the integration and cooperation of researchers in the area and offer greater visibility to ongoing research for the academic and industrial communities.

All submitted papers will be evaluated by three members of the Program Committee. The selected papers will be presented by the student during the WTDQS. Priority will be given to the works that are in the most appropriate moment to receive this feedback, i.e., works that are not in too early or too advanced stages. During WTDQS presentations, discussions will be held with especially invited researchers from the area, as well as with the community attending the conference. The presence of the advisor during the presentation is not mandatory but strongly recommended.

Doctoral submissions must include a Research Form and a Full Paper up to 8 pages. Optionaly, an Explanatory Video may be submitted as well.

Master's submissions must include a Research Form. Moreover, authors must include a Full Paper up to 6 pages or an Extended Abstract up to 2 pages and an Explanatory Video

The paper must respect the SBC format (SBC template) and the limit of 2 up to 6 pages for master's and 8 pages for doctoral works.

The files to be submitted must comply with the following instructions:

(i) Research form containing a brief description of the main aspects of the work. The template available HERE must be used. The research form must be submitted in PDF format.

(ii) Full paper presenting in a clear and objective way the following topics: research context, problem characterization, theoretical foundation, research method, the current state of work, related works, and expected results. The topics listed are essential to the paper, but they do not need to be in isolated sections, nor need to be presented in the order they were cited above. The format of SBC papers available at http://www.sbc.org.br/documentos-da-sbc/category/169-templates-para-artigos-e-capitulos-de-livros must be used. The paper must be submitted in PDF format.

(iii) Extended Abstract: The format of SBC papers available at http://www.sbc.org.br/documentos-da-sbc/category/169-templates-para-artigos-e-capitulos-de-livros must be used. The paper must be submitted in PDF format.

(iv) Explanatory Video: a video of up to 5 minutes to supplement the content of the paper and research form. The video must be presented by the student. The video must be uploaded to YouTube. When uploading the video to your YouTube account, mark it as unlisted so it will be accessible only to those who have the link.

Papers can be submitted in Portuguese or English. The full paper and the extended abstract must also contain the title, authors identification, affiliation, abstract in English, and abstract in Portuguese. Both abstracts must not exceed 10 lines each and must be presented in the first page of the paper.

Papers in a format other than PDF, that exceeds the number of pages, violates formatting instructions or are outside WTDQS scope will not be considered.

Accepted works at WTDQS will be published in the Extended Annals of SBQS 2021, on the SBC Open Lib Platform.

The acceptance of a paper implies that the student must register to SBQS, present the paper at WTDQS, and provide extra files required by the general chair (for example, a presentation video following the format requested). Additionally, to speed up the publication process, authors of accepted papers must fill some forms requested by the proceedings chair on specific dates.
