CALL FOR PAPERS – XVIII WORKSHOP ON THESES AND DISSERTATIONS IN SOFTWARE QUALITY (WTDQS)

SBQS 2020: The 19th Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality

December 1st to 4th, 2020- ONLINE

http://www.sbc.org.br/sbqs2020

WTDQS

The XVIII Workshop on Theses and Dissertations in Software Quality (WTDQS), inserted in the XIX Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality (SBQS 2020), is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of master and doctoral studies on Software Quality under development in Brazil.

The objective of this event is to provide a constructive environment for discussions, giving students the opportunity to obtain feedback on their work and a position in relation to the research on Software Quality. In addition, it aims to stimulate the integration and cooperation of researchers in the area and offer greater visibility to ongoing research for the academic and industrial communities.

All submitted papers will be evaluated by three members of the Program Committee. Selected papers will be presented by the student during the WTDQS. It is important to select works that are in the most appropriate moment to receive this feedback, i.e., they are not in a very early or very advanced stage. During WTDQS presentations, discussions will be held with especially invited researchers from the area, as well as with the present community. The presence of the advisor during the presentation is not mandatory but strongly recommended.

  • Doctoral works that are in the second or third year and that have defended or are close to the defending their thesis proposal (qualification);
  • Masters works that have an approved proposal and are expected to be concluded in the next 12 months.

Masters or doctoral studies that has been completed or are in the process of being completed (i.e., the defense is expected to occur next (before or after) to the date of the WTDQS) must not be submitted, since at this stage little contribution can be given to the work.

Papers can be submitted in Portuguese or English. All papers must be submitted in 2 files in PDF format (exclusively):

(i) Research form containing a brief description of the main aspects of the work. The template available at http://sbqs.sbc.org.br/conteudo/fichapesquisawtdqs2020.docx must be used.

(ii) Article presenting in a clear and objective way the following topics: research context, problem characterization, theoretical foundation, research method, the current state of work, related works, and expected results. The format of SBC articles available at http://www.sbc.org.br/documentos-da-sbc/category/169-templates-para-artigos-e-capitulos-de-livros must be used.

The topics listed in (ii) above are essential to the article, but they do not need to be in isolated sections, nor need to be presented in the order they were cited above. The article must also contain the title, author identification, affiliation, abstract in English, and abstract in Portuguese.

The article must respect the SBC format (SBC template) and the limit of 6 pages for master and 8 pages for doctoral works.

Accepted works must be presented by the student in WTDQS.

Works must be submitted in the JEMS system.

For accepted papers, the .docx file may be requested for the final version of the paper.
